Pregnancy Update ~ 35 Weeks

Tomorrow I will be 35 weeks!
Time is FLYING by, its a good thing but I am still not 100% sure I am ready.

How far along: 35 Weeks
Weight gain: 21lbs
Symptoms: Tired and sore.
Food Cravings: Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream
Memorable moments: We had our baby celebration last Sunday.  It was lots of fun to spend time with family and friends!  Daddy's cousin made the baby a quilt and matching burp cloths...

Planning: I have been wanting a moses basket and rocking stand for the baby.  Most likely the baby won't sleep in it much, but I need a safe (and small) place to put the him/her down for naps.  So I found a really nice one on Craigslist for $35!!  Steal:)  They usually cost close to $200 w/ the stand!  The bedding was horrible, and I was inspired by our homemade quilt... So, I made matching bedding.

Oh, and a matching basket that fits perfect under the stand.

Birth kit is all ready and waiting.

Emotions: I am beginning to get excited for the baby to make its arrival!  I am also a bit overwhelmed by the fact that it's coming so fast... I feel like I have a lot on my plate now, and I am nervous about how another baby is going to change things:/
What I am looking forward to: A busy June!  Birthday parties, BBQs, our anniversary, fathers day, swim lessons and lots of playdates.  Trying to stay occupied while waiting and tire the kids out so that when the baby comes they can have a few TV days.

It was really cute and I loved reading what everyone had to say!
I have yet to fill mine out, so here it goes...

I hope you learn... To live everyday to the fullest.
I hope you aren't afraid of... snakes and spiders.
I hope you love... your family.
I hope you get... your Daddy's eyes.
I hope you laugh... at your Baba's jokes:)
I hope you never forget... how much you are loved!
I hope you ignore... your siblings teasing.
I hope you become... a beautiful person, inside and out.
I hope you respect... yourself and your family.
I hope you grow... healthy and happy.

Weekend Round Up

This weekend was busy!  And guess what... I forgot my camera everywhere we went!
Oh well.  I have a few pictures from my phone and a couple videos also:)

So our weekend started off with a car show.  On our way there, Buddy Boy decided he was a dog!  Hehe, who needs a dog when you have kids to entertain you...

After the car show, we headed out to a birthday party where we spent the rest of the day.
None of the kids had naps, including Baby C who is use to taking at least one long nap a day.  So when we got to the party all he wanted to do was sit in the swing and have me swing him.  And I did... ALL afternoon.  I also neglected to put sun screen on myself.  So while all the kids were lathered up, I was burning up.  Here's me on Saturday night, Daddy was rubbing aloe on me because I could hardly stand it.  I really hope I learn my lesson in the future:)

Sunday was our baby celebration brunch, which was lots of fun, but I will have more to say about that during my pregnancy post this week:)

After everyone went home, we spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside.  Bubba Love practiced her hula hooping... check her out:)

A bit after this video, Daddy and I started noticing some weird stuff going on... it started getting dark and strange shadows were appearing.  We both started feeling a little odd from the sudden change in atmosphere, then suddenly we realized there was an eclipse!
So Daddy ran off to his shop to get his welding mask, then all of us took a look:)
This is the best picture we got.

Buddy Boy taking a look, this was after the full eclipse and it was getting sunny again.

These are the strange shadows.  These are the shadows that the trees/leaves were making.  Trippy!!

Ahh, I love busy weekends!  It keeps the time moving quickly, so quickly that before we know it Baby #4 will be here.  The next 5 weeks are packed full of fun and I know they will fly by.

Mommy Talk Tuesday {Breastfeeding}

The Not So Secret Confessions of a Second Time Mom

This weeks topic {Breastfeeding}:
Do/Did you breastfeed? What was the biggest challenge of breastfeeding or trying to breastfeed? What was/is your favorite part of breastfeeding? Do you think it's ok to nurse in public?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breast is best, right?  At least it was for me and my babes:)
I have breastfed all my kids.  Bubba Love until 10months, then I got pregnant with Buddy Boy who nursed until 1, then I got pregnant with Baby C who nursed until 13 months, then I got pregnant again!
I had all the typical issues when beginning to breastfeed, but nothing that detoured me from it... in my opinion there was no other choice.  And after those first few weeks that are tough, breastfeeding seemed more convenient and worked well with my lifestyle.
I have lots of favorites when it comes to breastfeeding.  I love the snuggling and bonding, I love that it helps me lose weight, and I love that it makes me slow down on busy days.
And heck yes I nurse in public... why wouldn't I?  My baby is hungry and has needs no matter where I am!
Looking back though, I realize that I have had awesome support!  I also have never had a bad experience with nursing or nursing in public.  I think that has made me very confident and I think every woman should feel that way:)
Pregnancy Update ~ 33 Weeks
How far along: 33 weeks
Weight gain: 20lbs
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks! Holy cow, all the time! And sore back at night.
Food Cravings: Root Beer floats... Thanks to a friend!!
Memorable moments: It seems the last few weeks, EVERYONE has been asking me what we are having.  When I tell them a baby and that it's a surprise, they all seem to want to tell me their opinion.... I mean total strangers are telling me!  Anyways, everyone so far has said girl:)  Who knows why, but I think it is worth remembering for when Baby make its appearance!
Planning: Me, none.  Daddy has been working hard!!  I came home from shopping all weekend, and he had started making a patio cover.  We had talked about building one but honestly we have been so busy that I thought it was far in the future.  Anyways, he told me he wanted to get it built ASAP because we plan to have Baby #4 outside in the yard and this will make a perfect "shelter" for me. By the end of the week he should be done and I will update with the finished product, but this is so far...
Emotions: Excited for the next few weeks, we have so much planned that time is going to fly by!  Also, a calm and peace.
What I am looking forward to: We are having a Baby Brunch next weekend.  Just a get together with friends and family to celebrate the baby coming.  No gifts or games, just celebrating:)
I started the weekend out with nothing planned, which turned out great because everything seemed to just fall into place without much thought:
Thrift store shopping
Craft store shopping
Amazing gifts
Shower alone
Breakfast by Daddy w/ our moms
Pedicures & coffee with my Sissy
More awesome gifts from Daddy
Afternoon of sewing and bow making
My mom, me & my mother-in-law.
Love you ladies!!
My Newest Addiction
Bow making!!
When Daddy and I were away on our weekend getaway, there was a cute little "shop" in the craft area at the fairgrounds. They had the cutest bows and I had to get one for Bubba Love!
When I got home and saw how much she loved it, I immediately wanted to make her some more:)
So after dissecting the bow I bought and watching a few YouTube videos online, we headed out to get ribbon and start crafting!
So in the last few days, this is what we have:
I have a ton of ribbon left over, so I plan to make more and either gift them or sell them.
But I am thinking a blog giveaway is in order... what do you think??
Weekend Getaway Part 2
If you missed part 1 of our getaway, check it out here.
On our way home Sunday, we stopped at this random place off the freeway.
It is about 20min south of Fresno and you can't miss it.  It looks like an old western town in the middle of nowhere surrounded by miles and miles of agriculture.
We needed a bathroom break and some food, so it looked like a good place to stop.
We soon found out that it was an AWESOME place to stop.
We walked in and there was a gift shop and small market full of local produce and products.  There was wine tasting and cheese tasting.  A diner that served burgers and BBQ.  And all of this:
A courtyard with a giant open BBQ, lots of sitting and antiques galore!
Off to one side of the courtyard was this huge tree house.
Picnic Area
This is the front of the place, that you can see from the freeway.
To the right of the picture, the freeway was about 20 feet!
Cute decor... I would love my house to have this look/feel!
This is the shooting range, and the car talks and squirts water at you!
Up these stairs was a mini golf course that went throughout the entire upstairs.
Kids area.
The BBQ.  Daddy is going to have to build one of these in our yard!
Before the baby is born, we are planning to take the kids back for a day trip.
They will love this place and both Daddy and I would love to spend more time there:)
Bubba Love Got Her Ears Pierced!
Bubba Love woke up last Thursday, randomly asking if she could get her ears pierced.
I told her to call her Daddy and ask him, he said yes!
On her request, we waited until Daddy could go with because she wanted him there to hold her hand:)
So Friday at lunch time we met Daddy at a local Claire's... she was beyond excited!!
She picked out her favorite earrings and sat down.
I think at this point she was getting nervous, but didn't say anything.
Then without her really having a chance to see what they were doing, two ladies pierced her ears at the same time.  She said owwweeee and had one big alligator tear.
But once she saw them there was no doubt in her mind that she made the right choice:)
She has been so good about keeping them clean and healthy.
Now she can't wait until she can go back to buy the Hello Kitty earrings!
These babies grow up way to fast!!!!
Mommy Talk Tuesday { Toddler Learning}
The Not So Secret Confessions of a Second Time Mom
Welcome back to Mommy Talk Tuesday!
We missed last week, but we are glad to be back:)
This weeks topic is {Toddler Learning}: How do you teach your toddler? What do you think is important for your toddler to learn? What fun learning activities do you have to share with other moms?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have posted a few of our activities here previously.  We haven't been doing anything new lately because we have been spending most of our time outside!
With Bubba Love, I was crazy about her learning things.  I wanted her to walk early, talk early, know her shapes and colors early, potty train early, ABC's early... you get my point.
She did all these things early because I pushed her to, but what I have realized now that she and Buddy Boy are older is that kids learn at their own pace and one day it will just click for them.
I struggled when Bubba Love was 3 to make her learn her ABC's, I finally gave up and decided to wait a bit.  Now there is hardly any teaching to do, she has great letter recognition and picks up on the sounds fast with little "teaching" from me.
I guess my point is, there is no need to rush our kids!
With both of the boys, I have been much more relaxed.  We play, read, and do workbooks.  But at their pace and more for fun then for learning.  They are exactly where they need to be education wise and they are enjoying it:)

Weekend Getaway Part 1

I stated a while back that Daddy and I would be going on a weekend getaway without the kids.
That was last weekend and we had SO much fun.
We dropped the kiddo's off at Yammie and Baba's early Friday morning and set off to Bakersfield for a NSRA street rod show.
I am not really sure how I forgot, but I forgot to take a picture of Daddy and I... AND I forgot to take a picture of our street rod.
So here is the most recent picture of our truck, it's a '39 Ford.

So most of you mom's out there are probably thinking I am crazy for enjoying a weekend looking at street rods!  But think about it... a weekend free from kids... it doesn't really matter what you are doing or where you are going, it will be relaxing!
While at the car show I spent most of my time reading, eating or walking around with Daddy.  I even got to hold his hand!  It was like we were dating again;)

Anyways, so here are a few pictures of the weekend:
