Family of Five

We have been a family of five for just under three weeks now. Before we have Baby C, I was worried about how everything would work out. Not only how would the baby fit in, but how would I get done everything I needed to on a daily basis... like get three kids out the door by 8 to get Bubba Love to school on time!! Thankfully, we have been blessed with an extremely good baby. He is beyond cooperative and is very patient with the rest of the family.

Daddy (being self employed) had no time off and had to return back to work when Baby C was three days old. I was sad that he didn't get to stay home and bond with the baby more, but I was ready to get back to the normal routine of life. I was also excited about the challenge of taking care of now three kids and the household again:) My first day home alone I felt so accomplished to have gotten the house clean, laundry done, and dinner on the table by the time Daddy got home. That day now seems like an eternity ago!

As of yesterday (2 & 1/2 weeks old), Baby C has gained 1lb & 1oz. He is such an awesome eater & it is beginning to show, he also has been sleeping six hours at night since five days old. Again, he is the easiest baby ever!! This morning Daddy got to stay home and let me and Baby C sleep in a bit. I still got up at my normal time, but me and Baby C just snuggled in bed:) It was so sweet to spend some one on one time with him, we both just wanted to stay there forever. It was the first time I thought about needing to spend time with him, realizing that since he is so easy going he could easily be "forgotten". Snuggle time will be less as he gets older, so I am going to enjoy it now.

As for the other two kiddos, they have adjusted really well and are completely in love with their new brother:)

Congratulations!! I felt that way about my 2nd...that they can easily be forgotten, I'm sure with 3 it's even harder! You sound like supermom to have been cleaning, doing laundry and making dinner with a 3 day old!
